Động cơ của máy bay Boeing 737-800 đã bốc cháy dữ dội chưa rõ nguyên nhân.

Cục Hàng không Liên bang Mỹ (FAA) cho biết động cơ của một máy bay phản lực của hãng American Airlines đã bốc cháy sau khi chuyển hướng hạ cánh ở Denver vào thứ Năm (13/3), buộc hành khách phải sơ tán bằng đường trượt của máy bay.

Chuyến bay AA1006 của American Airlines từ Colorado Springs trên máy bay Boeing 737-800 đã hạ cánh xuống Denver vào khoảng 5:15 chiều (giờ địa phương), chuyển hướng khỏi điểm đến đã định là Dallas sau khi phi hành đoàn báo cáo động cơ rung, FAA cho biết.

Một số đoạn video đã ghi lại cảnh hành khách đứng trên cánh máy bay trước khi di tản khi khói bốc ra từ động cơ đã được đăng tải trên mạng xã hội.

“Sau khi hạ cánh an toàn và lăn bánh đến cổng tại Sân bay quốc tế Denver, chuyến bay 1006 của American Airlines đã gặp sự cố liên quan đến động cơ”, hãng hàng không cho biết trong một tuyên bố.

“172 hành khách và 6 thành viên phi hành đoàn đã xuống máy bay và đang được chuyển đến nhà ga. Chúng tôi cảm ơn các thành viên phi hành đoàn, nhóm (Denver) và những người ứng cứu đầu tiên vì hành động nhanh chóng và quyết đoán của họ, coi sự an toàn của mọi người trên máy bay và trên mặt đất là ưu tiên hàng đầu”, hãng hàng không cho biết thêm.

FAA cho biết họ sẽ điều tra vụ việc.

Boeing từ chối bình luận và chuyển câu hỏi tới American Airlines và các nhà điều tra.

Vụ cháy động cơ là sự cố mới nhất trong một loạt các sự cố hàng không nghiêm trọng đã làm dấy lên câu hỏi về an toàn hàng không của Hoa Kỳ, bao gồm vụ va chạm trên không giữa một máy bay phản lực khu vực của American Airlines và một trực thăng của Quân đội vào ngày 29 tháng 1 khiến 67 người thiệt mạng.
